This year, the organization announced three new award categories that will recognize community groups and/or leaders who share a vision for a better climate future. The awards categories are listed below.

The Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award: It is important to recognize individuals who protect and maintain Nevada’s unique individuality. The Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award was designed to celebrate the conservation achievements of special individuals dedicated to the protection and improvement of our state’s natural resources and outdoor spaces. Honorees bestowed with the Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award continually advocate for Nevada’s environment, through their conservation actions, volunteer work, and promotion of environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Green Guardian Award: The Green Guardian Award celebrates the work and achievements of an organization or individual dedicated to increasing access to a healthier and cleaner environment for Nevadans. The Green Guardian(s) combat climate change through their actions by reserving resources, maintaining a quality standard of living, and protecting Nevada from a scarcity of resources while promoting positive public health and protecting the environment.

Green Business of the Year Award: By showcasing their dedication to the environment, these businesses set a positive example for the community at large. Through the fostering of healthy and lasting environments, these companies are consistent in their beliefs and actions. They continually go above and beyond the current dictated environmental conservation standards and often influence other companies to do the same. Some of these businesses provide environmentally conscious products or materials. Always striving to reduce environmental concerns, they are all about putting the needs of our state first.

Award winners will be recognized during the Home Means Nevada Awards Dinner.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Nevada Conservation League and advance its mission to enhance the natural character of Nevada and the quality of life for Nevadans through effective advocacy, the election of pro-conservation candidates, and building environmental collaboration.
