Nevada Conservation League Honors Environmental Leaders at Home Means Nevada Dinner

Annual event fundraising event recognizes outstanding local environmental leaders

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Nevada Conservation League announced its annual Home Means Nevada Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 6:00 pm. The yearly fundraising gala recognizes the organization’s progress made to protect our climate, air, water, land, and health while recognizing community leaders who, in their careers, volunteerism, and lifestyle choices, continue to take our movement further.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Nevada Conservation League and advance the organization’s mission to enhance the natural character of Nevada and the quality of life for Nevadans through effective advocacy, the election of pro-conservation candidates, and building environmental collaboration. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities can be found here

Press interested in attending must RSVP to angelyn@nevadaconservationleague.org

The awards categories are listed below.

  • The Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award: It is important to recognize individuals who protect and maintain Nevada’s unique individuality. The Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award was designed to celebrate the conservation achievements of special individuals dedicated to the protection and improvement of our state’s natural resources & outdoor spaces, investments in clean & renewable energy economy and jobs, and the overall protection of Nevada’s environment. Honorees bestowed with the Harry Reid Lifetime Achievement Award continually advocate for Nevada’s environment, through their conservation actions, volunteer work, and promotion of environmentally friendly lifestyles.
  • Green Guardian Award: The Green Guardian Award celebrates the work and achievements of an organization or individual dedicated to protecting our environment through research, projects, everyday work tasks, volunteerism, funding, or programming. The Green Guardian(s) combat climate change through their actions by reserving resources, maintaining a quality standard of living, and protecting Nevada from a scarcity of resources while promoting positive public health and protecting the environment.
  • Green Business of the Year Award: By showcasing their dedication to the environment, these businesses set a positive example for the community, state, and nation. Through the fostering of healthy and lasting environments, these companies are consistent in their beliefs and actions. They continually go above and beyond the current dictated environmental conservation standards and often influence other companies to do the same. Some of these businesses provide environmentally conscious products or materials, but are always striving to reduce environmental concerns and putting the needs of our state first.

Award winners will be announced in the following weeks and recognized during the Home Means Nevada Awards Dinner. The keynote speaker for this event will also be announced at a later date. Announcements about this event will be kept here
